City of Johannesburg: Our sources do not make this clear. The PAC won 1 of 270 seats in 2021. It was part of a group called the Minority Governing Parties bloc, inside the coalition led by the ANC. Al Jama-ah's Thapelo Amad then replaced him, because the bloc asked for this. The Citizen reports that in October 2025 the PAC was one of six parties that gave notice that they would leave the bloc. What it has said about the world
Mzwanele Nyhontso, the PAC leader, said this in Parliament during the debate on the President's yearly speech. He spoke about South Africa's case at the International Court of Justice, the top UN court. South Africa took what he calls genocide in Gaza to that court. Genocide means trying to destroy a whole people. Nyhontso says the PAC backs the case and is proud of South Africa's lawyers. In its own words: “What is clear, however, is the rise of a moral high ground taken by South Africa when the genocide in Gaza Strip in Occupied Palestine was raised at the International Court of Justice. We support the stand taken.”

Mzwanele Nyhontso, the PAC leader, said this in a debate in Parliament about the US stopping its aid. He was also a government minister at the time. He says the US is trying to weaken South Africa and change its government from outside. So he wants South Africa to stop working with the US on defence, the army and spying. This includes US navy work at Simon's Town. In its own words: “We must end all security, military and intelligence co- operation with the United States of America.”

The PAC's one MP voted to ask the government to close Israel's embassy and cut ties, as the ANC had changed the motion. The motion passed, 248 votes to 91. In its own words: “Hon Chair, we are supporting the motion, the amendment, as tabled by the Chief Whip of the Majority Party.”

In the same debate on the US aid cut, Mzwanele Nyhontso said the US acts on lies. Imperialism means a powerful country ruling or pushing around weaker ones. In its own words: “American imperialism is built and fuelled by lies.”

Nyhontso, also South Africa's land reform minister, defended the Expropriation Act, a law on when the state may take land, Daily Maverick reported. Trump had invited Afrikaner farmers to move to the US, saying their land was being taken. Nyhontso said the law is not "a land confiscation" act, and they "can accept the challenge and go to America". In its own words: “The Expropriation Act is not a land confiscation [act], but they can accept the challenge and go to America.”
