What does the evidence show?

Why it is Verified

GroundUp, citing a reply by the human settlements minister, gives Cape Town 12,401 homes handed over from 2020/21 to 2024/25. That is the most of the eight metros. An earlier official reply also puts Cape Town ahead of every metro from 2019/20 to 2023/24. Official tables count houses in different ways. For example, a 2024 reply gives Cape Town 17,744 for 2019/20 to 2023/24. But each table puts Cape Town first among the metros.
